Untitled, Unsaid

Some say love is a temple of gold
High on a mountain-side
You must come bravely and climb bold
To be worthy to enter inside

Others call love a pool of regret
Tears and heartbroken nights
Don’t lose yourself in love’s sharp net
For you’ll soon give up the fight

Others take my cup and fill it
With the passion of love on the brink
Poisoned love will fill the soul and kill it
Behind ruby lips they call me to drink

From love I have run for I am not bold
Enough to climb the mountain
I do not want someone to hold
If it makes of my tears a fountain

But perhaps there is more to this thing they call love
Behind all the gore that is spoken of

Perhaps love is only
The One who will find
Me when I’m lonely
And not leave me behind
