The wind’s low warning
The steady pattering of snow
The unlikelihood of shelter
In the forest’s white glow
I know I can’t blame you –
I chose this weighted path
I chose the beauty of the sullen
Winter storm’s wrath
But if you ever join me
‘Neath the snow-covered lane
Just promise me you’ll see through
The empty, swirling pain
Promise me you'll look for
The absence of the rain
